How to attribute Media Cloud in your work

When using, reproducing, and/or displaying any Platform Outputs, which includes data and images derived from the platform, we strongly recommend and encourage to you attribute to Media Cloud. You can do this in one of many ways:

  • When discussing any Platform Outputs in a written form, note “Media Cloud” as the source or tool used to gather data. A short description of Media Cloud may also be helpful.

  • As outlined in our Terms of Use [Link], you may also link to the Media Cloud Website homepage, provided you do so in a way that is fair and does not damage our reputation or take advantage of it. You must not establish a link in such a way as to suggest any form of association, approval, or endorsement on our part without our express and written content.

  • If you directly reproduce a Platform Output (e.g. taking a screenshot and using it without making your own visual), you must also attribute Highcharts.com if they were originally attributed to the graphic.[SZ4]

  • When displaying a visual representation of Platform Outputs, such as a graph, table, “word cloud,” or “word space,” include the text “Source: Media Cloud” or “Data from Media Cloud” near the visual element.
